Artwork guidelines for custom patches

Clean artwork. Better patches. Prepare your logo for its finished patch size, or order artwork help with your patches. These guidelines cover the PVC and leatherette options currently available from Liberty.

Files you can upload

With No logo help selected in the custom patch builder, upload an AI, SVG, or vector PDF. A photo or screenshot saved as a PDF still contains pixels; changing the file extension does not turn it into vector artwork.

  • Convert text to outlines so lettering does not depend on fonts installed on another computer.
  • Include clean vector shapes and check the spelling, spacing, and orientation before uploading.
  • Judge small text and fine lines at the actual finished patch size. Details that look clear when enlarged may need simplifying for production.

Choose the artwork help your logo needs

Only have a JPG, PNG, photo, or an artwork file that needs rebuilding? Choose logo help in the builder and upload your existing file.

  • Basic logo help: $65 per design. Clean text, simple shapes, and straightforward logos.
  • Complex logo help: $125 per design. Detailed artwork or an involved redraw.

The artwork service is charged once per design and appears with your patches in the same order. We will contact you before proceeding if your logo needs a different level of help. Order patches with logo help, or choose the standalone Logo Vector Service if you only need artwork preparation.

PVC or leatherette: design for the material

PVC gives your logo color and raised molded detail. Use clear shapes and separated areas of color; ask us about fine details or effects before ordering.

Leatherette uses laser engraving rather than full-color printing. Focus on clear contrast, readable lettering, and a design that works in an engraved finish. The online custom builder currently uses Heritage Buckskin leatherette.

Send finished dimensions and production notes

Enter the final width and height in inches. The builder accepts 0.50″ to 5.00″ per side. Pricing size is (width + height) ÷ 2; a pricing size over 4.00″ requires a quote. Add notes about the intended shape or details that matter to your job.
